Thank you so much for the congratulations and, more importantly, for the incredible support you’ve given me throughout my studies.
Receiving a bursary from Career Wise marked a turning point in my academic and professional journey. As a first-generation university student, the financial support lifted a tremendous burden, allowing me to fully immerse myself in my studies. Without constantly worrying about tuition or living expenses, I could channel all my energy into learning, a privilege that directly contributed to me graduating with distinction as the top-performing student in my department.
Career Wise’s impact went far beyond the financial. Being selected as a bursary recipient gave me something equally valuable, confidence. It validated that my hard work mattered. Today, as a young Industrial Engineering professional, I still apply the lessons this opportunity taught me: that investment in human potential yields exponential returns.
Career Wise didn’t just support me through university; it launched me into a career where I get to transform operations every day. I will forever be grateful for the foundation it provided.
I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the bursary fund that enabled me to pursue my Honours degree in Social Work at Huguenote College. Your support has been instrumental in my academic journey, and I am thrilled to have reached this milestone.
Your investment in my education has not only alleviated financial burdens but also boosted my confidence and motivation. I am grateful for the opportunity to have studied at such a reputable institution and to have had the chance to develop my skills and knowledge in social work.
As I move forward, I am excited to apply the skills and knowledge I have gained to make a positive impact in my community. I would be delighted to share my story and experience with Career Wise, and I have attached one of my graduation photos for your use on your website.
Thank you again for your support and for being part of my journey. I look forward to celebrating my continued success and making a difference in the lives of others.
I am incredibly grateful to the R B Hagart Trust for the top-up bursary funding I received during my studies. It covered my accommodation and meals, allowing me to live the life of a normal student—free from financial worry and able to focus fully on my academics.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Career Wise for the support you have provided throughout my academic journey. Being selected as a bursary recipient was more than just financial assistance — it was a reminder that Career Wise believed in my potential, even when times were hard.
Coming from a challenging background, this support gave me the dignity, stability, and confidence I needed to succeed. Today, I proudly hold my Bachelor of Education degree in Intermediate phase because Careerwise believed in me.
I look forward to giving back by becoming a mentor at Sizanani Saturday School and, one day, a funder myself—helping make another student’s journey just as memorable and possible.
Receiving funding from the career wise bursary meant having to study with a peace of mind knowing that my fees my are covered. Having this bursary throughout the 4 years really alleviated my anxiety and provided certainty that my dreams were valid. I get to now work as a clinical audiologist at Tambo memorial hospital because career wise invested in my dreams. My future goals are to enrol in short courses to advance my clinical skills and register for my masters degree at the university of Cape Town.
Being funded by the Kumba Iron Ore bursary programme gave me the peace of mind to fully focus on my studies without the constant worry of financial strain.
From 2021 to 2024, this bursary support enabled me to complete my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Geosciences. A major part of what made this experience so smooth was the incredible support from the Career Wise bursary team—Lesego, the bursary manager, and Kingsley, the bursary administrator—who were always available, approachable, and ready to assist whenever needed.
I’m proud to share that I’ve since graduated and am now working as a Junior Geologist at Kumba Iron Ore. Securing this position would not have been possible without the bursary programme’s investment in my education and growth.
